Easy Fruit Cake

Syrup

  • 2 1/4 C. Water
  • 1 C. Dates
  • 1 C. Raisins
  • 1 C. Nuts (chopped)
  • 18 oz. package Whole Cherries
  • 1 C. Shortening
  • 2 Tsp. Nutmeg
  • 2 Tsp. Cinnamon

Cake

  • 2 Eggs
  • 3 C. Sifted Flour
  • 1 Tsp. Baking Soda

Boil syrup ingredients for 7 minutes. Let cool overnight. Beat in cake ingredients. Mix well and put into a heavily greased tin. Bake 350 degrees for 90 minutes.
