Refrigerator Coffee Ring

  • 1 C. Shortening
  • 1 cake Yeast
  • 1 C. Lukewarm Milk
  • 3 tbsp. Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 3 Eggs, beaten
  • 4 C. Flour

Mix shortening and flour. Put yeast in milk to work a bit. Add sugar, salt, and eggs and beat. Add flour and beat. Place in greased bowl, cover, and refrigerate overnight. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle on the following: 1/4 cup sugar, 2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/4 cup raisins and chopped walnuts. Roll up, shape into a ring on a greased pan. Snip with scissors at 1 1/2 inch intervals, let raise until doubled in size. Bake at 350 degrees.
