‘Crazy’ Cake II

  • 3 C. Flour
  • 2 C. Sugar
  • 1 Tsp. Salt
  • 2 Tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1/3 C. Cocoa
  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp. Vinegar
  • 3/4 C. Salad Oil

Sift dry ingredients into 9″ x 13″ ungreased, unfloured cake pan. Make 3 holes and place Vanilla in first, Vinegar in second, and salad oil in third. Pour water over and mix thoroughly with a fork. Bake 350 deg. for 40 minutes.

White Frosting

  • 2 1/2 Tbs/ Flour
  • 1/2 C. Milk
  • 1/2 C. Butter
  • 1/2 C. Sugar
  • 1/2 Tsp. Vanilla

Blend flour with milk. Cook to thick paste, then cool. Separately cream butter with sugar, then add to paste with vanilla. Beat til fluffy. Spread on cake.

Chocolate Frosting

  • 2 Tbs. Cocoa
  • 1/4 C. Milk
  • 2 Tbs. White Karo Syrup
  • 1/4 C. Butter
  • 1 C. Sugar
  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla

Combine coca, milk, syrup, butter, and sugar. Boil 1 minute. Cool and add vanilla and beat. Pour over white frosting.
