Peanut Blossoms

  • 1 3/4 C. Flour
  • 1 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 C. Shortening
  • 1/2 C. Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 C. Sugar
  • 1/2 C. Brown Sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 unbeaten Egg
  • 1 tbsp. Milk
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • Hershey’s Kisses

Sift flour, baking soda, and salt. Cream shortening, peanut butter, and sugar. Add egg, milk, and vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients. Shape by rounded teaspoon into balls. Roll in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Remove and firmly press a Hershey’s Kiss onto each cookie. Return to oven and bake 2 to 5 minutes longer.
