Grandma’s Fluffy Frosting

  • 1/3 C. Water
  • 1 tbsp. Light Corn Syrup
  • 1 C. Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. Cream of Tartar
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • 1 Egg White
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla

In a saucepan, combine water, corn syrup, sugar, cream of tartar, and salt. Cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a rolling boil and sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat. Beat egg white until stiff, but not dry. Pour hot syrup into egg white in a fine stream, beating constantly. Add vanilla and continue beating until frosting stands in stiff peaks (about 5 minutes).
